Wild Man
The author of the Gospel of Mark tells us that King Herod feared John the Baptizer, that he was greatly disturbed when he heard his words, yet he couldn’t help but listen.  John was a firebrand, a loose cannon, a powder keg, and every other trite, incendiary metaphor that gets pasted onto people who simply tell it like it is.  And when he exploded onto the scene as God's prophet, his message terrified people.  They almost couldn't bear it.  Yet, as utterly disturbed as they were by this fanatic, the people could not pull themselves away!  They craved truth, and they were willing to abandon the comfortable confines of the synagogues to get it.  Are you ready for some reality?  Are you hungry for some hope?  Are you desperate for a dose of unvarnished truth?  Then come with us on Sundays at 10 AM to the wilderness of Judea as we consider the inspired ravings of God’s own Wild Man.
